What it costs to hire Priory Hall

The pricing scheme for Priory Hall is simple; you only pay for what you use.  If you don't use the marquee then you don't pay for it.  If you want only the ceremony and afternoon reception, we'll only charge for that.  It's really up to you.

  • Full weekend price for reception and evening party: £5,300 plus £500 for a civil ceremony. There's nothing to add to this.... no corkage and we don't take commission from suppliers (which many venues do).
  • Full midweek price for reception and evening party (not Fridays since it's always a three-day hire): £4,700 plus £500 for a civil ceremony.
  • We charge £1,000 for just the ceremony and £2,000 for the ceremony and afternoon reception and photographs. The ceremony fee is reduced to £500 if you use the full venue. The fee for registrars is not included and is a separate contract between you and Ipswich Registry Office.

The hire fee includes

  • Access over 3 days from 1pm the day before to midday the day after.
  • Inside and outside tables and chairs
  • Marquee and catering tent including heating, lighting, cloakrooms, tables, chairs, coat rails, umbrellas, table plan easels, plants.
  • Ceremony chairs
  • Two cloakrooms
  • Use of Tudor hall for the afternoon and evening. Using the hall for a civil ceremony is a separate contract and fee.
  • Outside seating throughout the extensive grounds
  • Quiet room available for babies or people needing quiet moments.
  • Use of drawing room for pre-ceremony bridal group and couple's post ceremony first drink.
  • Large car park with overnight parking on the wedding night.
  • Evening pay bar provided by Queen's Head Bar Services.
  • Floodlights
  • No corkage charge on drink you supply for your reception and meal.
  • Plus all the care and attention you need.

This means you can hire Priory Hall, with all the facilities and infrastructure organised for you, for considerably less than it would cost to put up and equip a marquee...and certainly with a lot less hassle!

The only extra cost is the fee for the registrars for a civil ceremony, plus your catering and entertainment and any other personal bits and pieces.

If you're hiring the whole venue there is a £1,000 booking fee with the balance due three months before the booking date. For reduced use the booking fee will be 25% of the full fee with the balance three months before your date.

It may help to have access to our recommended suppliers and accommodation so you can budget before committing to a venue. At Priory Hall we will hold a date while you do this and we are not vexed (saddened may be) if you then decide not to confirm the booking.  We most enjoy relaxed weddings and you won't be relaxed if you're horrendously over budget.  To get access to this recommended list just send me an email - cyndy.hilton@prioryhall.com  - and I will send access codes to you.

Anniversary visits
