The costs
Our season runs from May until the end of September. The full cost of exclusive hire of the Priory Hall wedding venue is £4,400,dropping to £3,900 if you have your ceremony somewhere else. We offer a £500 discount for midweek (Monday to Thursday) and some short notice bookings. We don't hold any Sunday weddings.
The fee includes the licensed hall with cloakrooms, grounds and dining marquee for up to 150 people, with tables, chairs, marquee cloakrooms, overnight parking in the large car park, catering marquee (which includes the tables but not the cooking equipment) and outdoor furniture. You have use of the lawn, pavilion and lighting throughout the gardens and uplighters and space heater in the marquee. We do not charge corkage and we do not charge commissions from any suppliers.
The extra £500 covers all you need for your civil ceremony, other than the registrars who you have to pay separately.
The booking fee is not subject to VAT and is split into half on booking and half two months before the wedding date.
We have a list of recommended suppliers to help you choose caterers, photographers etc.. Priory Hall is licensed for the sale of alcohol, and we can organise a cash bar from a local pub, who charges about £75 set up fee but then normal Suffolk pub prices. Both the liquour licence and music licence end at 11.30pm and we suggest carriages at midnight, so though music must stop and alcohol sales stop at 11.30 there is plenty of drink up time. All we require is that you or your suppliers remove all bottles, cans etc and rubbish after your party.
